Instrument and Electrical Technician II
About The Position
This role involves installing and maintaining electrical and instrument equipment essential for production operations. The technician will be responsible for testing and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems, evaluating issues, planning repairs, and meticulously documenting problems and their corrective actions. Work must be performed in strict accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, specifications, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental requirements. Collaboration with operations, engineering, and projects teams is key, including providing input on control specifications and work practices. The technician will maintain electrical and control systems following the Work Management Manual and adhere to the Permit to Work System, ensuring scheduled maintenance is completed safely, to standard, and on time. This position also involves helping to prioritize work, providing troubleshooting support to other technicians, preparing Management of Change requests for electrical and control equipment, and inspecting installations according to OIMS requirements. Additionally, the role includes monitoring new installations, recommending upgrades, sharing technical updates with the team, and potentially acting as a stand-in for the Instrument and Electrical Lead.
Requirements
- Experience maintaining electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls in a processing plant or offshore production plant.
- Familiarity with oil and gas facility regulations.
- Familiarity with OIMS procedures.
- Familiarity with applicable safety and technical training requirements.
- Computing skills.
- Clear communication.
- Organized reporting.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical and instrument equipment used in production operations.
- Test and repair electrical and instrumentation systems.

- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and projects teams; provide input on control specifications and work practices.

- Complete scheduled maintenance work safely, to standard, and on time.
- Help prioritize work and provide troubleshooting support to other technicians.
- Prepare Management of Change requests for electrical and control equipment.
- Inspect installations in accordance with OIMS requirements.
- Monitor new installations, recommend upgrades, and share technical updates with the team.
- Stand in for the Instrument and Electrical Lead as needed.
