About The Position

UW Continuum College is seeking part-time instructors for its Professional & Continuing Education Grant Management and Grant Writing specialization courses. Applicants will be considered for courses running from January 2027 through June 2027. Instructors serve as subject matter experts, present learning content, engage with students, and assess whether learners have achieved course competencies. They may be appointed as an instructor or co-instructor according to program needs; co-instructor pay is prorated based on assigned duties. The Grant Management specialization (Winter 2027) covers the full grant life cycle, including pre-award preparation, post-award financial reporting and compliance, organizational grant readiness, administrative and cost regulations, and systems for tracking performance, timelines, effort, and deliverables. The Grant Writing specialization (Spring 2027) provides hands-on grant-writing experience with a nonprofit, educational, or government organization, focusing on research, storytelling, measurable objectives, funder alignment, post-award processes, and grantmaking strategies and trends. Both non-credit courses are 12 weeks long, worth 3.6 CEUs, and delivered entirely online using Zoom. Classes meet once per week in the evenings from 6–9 p.m. Pacific Time. Instructors teach from a set curriculum plan with defined learning outcomes while customizing course content and lesson slides to align with course objectives. They prepare a syllabus and current lesson materials, teach all scheduled sessions, grade assignments and projects, respond to student questions and provide timely feedback, adapt instruction based on feedback, complete required onboarding and training, and comply with privacy laws and policies. Instructors also participate in 1–2 instructor meetings or information sessions annually, make efforts to attend program social events, and promote the program. The pay range is $1,600–$1,650 per CEU per course, commensurate with experience and qualifications. These are part-time, temporary academic staff positions; Extension Lecturers/Instructors are not faculty.
