About The Position

Family Service League is seeking a part-time Instructor for its Alcohol Prevention program in Mastic. The Instructor will provide substance abuse primary prevention education to elementary school-aged children and the community at large. The position is scheduled for no more than 7.5 hours weekly, across 2–3 days per week depending on need.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be licensed, certified, or credentialed as a Credentialed Prevention Professional or Credentialed Prevention Specialist, or in a related discipline such as social work, school counseling, teaching, or health education.
• At least 2 years of prevention work experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute substance abuse prevention and character-building programs in elementary schools and other settings.
• Create and deliver substance abuse prevention presentations for the community.
• Participate in health fairs.
• Complete data entry.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
