About The Position

The Division of Electrical & Computer Engineering in the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Louisiana State University seeks candidates for one instructor position, starting in August of 2026. The role involves teaching freshman-, sophomore-, and junior-level introductory courses in circuits, electronics, signal processing, probability, digital communications, RF courses, and related topics. Additionally, the instructor will guide senior-level students through capstone design classes. Special consideration will be given to those who can bring design experience and creative enthusiasm to capstone design instruction. The instructor is anticipated to have a teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester, with 90% dedicated to teaching undergraduate courses in the communications and signal processing area of electrical engineering, and 10% for other duties as assigned by the chair.

Requirements

• Master's degree in electrical engineering or relevant discipline.
• Must have completed an M.S. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a closely related area by July 2026.
• Must demonstrate mastery of undergraduate material in some of the areas listed (circuits, electronics, signal processing, probability, digital communications, RF courses).
• Must have some teaching experience.
• Valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment.
• Teaching and any instructional experience should be detailed in the CV.
• Applicants must submit a Teaching Statement explaining how they would handle the learning challenges of students from varying backgrounds and provide the encouragement needed to keep them going.
• Applicants must also submit contact information for references who can address their skills and potential as teachers.

Nice To Haves

• Special consideration will be given to those who can bring design experience and creative enthusiasm to capstone design instruction.
• Industrial experience and exposure to development projects are desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Offer freshman-, sophomore-, and junior-level introductory courses in circuits, electronics, signal processing, probability, digital communications, RF courses, and related topics.
• Guide senior-level students through capstone design classes.
• Teach undergraduate courses in the communications and signal processing area of electrical engineering (90% of workload).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the chair (10% of workload).
