About The Position

The Department of Urology at Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated, patient-centered Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its growing outpatient urology practice in the Greater New Orleans area. This full-time faculty position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with an experienced team of urologists and provide comprehensive, high-quality care to patients with a broad range of urologic conditions. The position is primarily outpatient-based, with consistent daytime clinic hours and opportunities for professional growth in an academic medical environment.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current or eligibility for appropriate Louisiana licensure as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
• National certification appropriate to the candidate’s professional discipline.
• Eligibility for prescriptive authority in accordance with Louisiana requirements.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification as required by institutional policy.

Nice To Haves

• Previous clinical experience is preferred.
• Experience in urology or a related surgical specialty is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and ongoing management of acute and chronic urologic conditions.
• Collaborate with faculty urologists to develop and coordinate individualized treatment plans.
• Provide clinical support for general urology and urologic oncology patients, as needed.
• Perform outpatient urologic procedures within the scope of practice and applicable credentialing requirements.
• Coordinate care with nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and other departmental activities as appropriate.
