About The Position

In accordance with the Mission, Core Values and Vision; the Instructor functions within the mission and strategic plan of Mount Carmel College of Nursing. Primary function of this position is the instruction of Mount Carmel College of Nursing students. Evaluates and maintains academic records regarding the progress of students. Advises students in academic matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline required (e.g., BSN).
• Must hold a current active unrestricted licensure in the State of Ohio, as applicable.
• CPR certification required with RN licensure, if applicable.
• A minimum of at least two years in the related field.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Active in professional and community organizations.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in appropriate discipline preferred.
• Teaching experience in collegiate or university setting preferred.
• Experience in curriculum development preferred.

• Functions in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing OAC 4723-5-19 Responsibilities of Faculty Teaching a Nursing Course and OAC 4723-5-20 Responsibilities of Faculty and Instructional Personnel in a Clinical Setting or other state regulations as amended.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for institutional diversity and cultural competence.
• Responsible for the development, assessment, and revision of program curriculum in collaboration with other faculty and academic leadership.
• Supervises, evaluates, and advises students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences.
• Facilitates a learning and caring environment which encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction, and respect for the uniqueness of each individual student
• Maintains communication and oversees the activities of Clinical Instructors/Preceptors regarding course curriculum and student evaluations, if applicable.
• Participates in professional activities, programs and professional organizations.
• Participates in scholarly activities, either individually or collaboratively.
• Maintains records according to college policies and processes ensuring adherence to FERPA and confidentiality standards
• Participates in peer review
• Participates in College and Faculty Assembly according to full-time/part-time employment status.
• Attends required College functions.
• Mentors new faculty.
• Serves on College committees as assigned.
• Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.
• All other duties as assigned.
