PART TIME INSTRUCTOR POOL - ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
About The Position
The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is recruiting for a part-time English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor. Under administrative leadership, part-time faculty support the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District. Responsibilities relate to classroom assignments, student evaluation, curriculum, student advising, professional development, and assignment-specific needs. The position is in the ESL department, with work hours that vary based on assignment. The anticipated start date is Spring 2027. Applications are retained in the pool for one year, and candidates are contacted for interviews as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or education with a TESL emphasis; OR bachelor's degree in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate, AND a master's degree in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, speech, or any foreign language; OR equivalent qualifications.
- Applicants applying under equivalency must submit an Equivalency Determination Form and equivalency materials.
- Successful fingerprint clearance is required before appointment.
- New employees must provide acceptable proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States.
