About The Position

The Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Instructor, PGY-7, within the Pediatric Cardiology parent program, is a one-year advanced training position designed to provide specialized clinical, educational, and academic experience in pediatric cardiac critical care. The appointment is a 12-month term beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027. Requirements

  • MD, PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion in pediatric residency program.
  • Focused training in Cardiology.
  • Arkansas medical licensure.
  • Board eligible or board certification in pediatrics.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Expand and develop advanced cardiac imaging skills through supervised clinical training and progressively independent practice.
  • Strengthen and apply general pediatric cardiology knowledge and clinical competencies in patient care settings.
  • Participate in professional development activities designed to support academic, clinical, and career growth.
  • Meet and maintain program standards and expectations outlined in the Program Goals, Structure, and Expectations documentation.
  • Collaborate with faculty, clinical teams, and interdisciplinary staff to provide high-quality patient care and support departmental objectives.
  • Adapt to evolving training expectations and responsibilities based on professional goals, fellowship progress, and patient care needs.
  • Contribute to the academic, clinical, and service missions of the department and the College of Medicine.
  • Support initiatives that advance pediatric cardiac care and improve outcomes for the children of Arkansas.
