About The Position
Swiss Valley is seeking passionate individuals to join their Snow Sports School as Ski or Snowboard Instructors for the 2026-2027 season. This role is ideal for those who love snow, enjoy working with others, and wish to enhance their skiing or snowboarding abilities. Instructors will teach both group and individual lessons to guests of all ages (4+) and skill levels, from beginners to experts. The position involves creating a positive learning environment, utilizing training resources from the Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors, and potentially assisting other departments as part of a team.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 14 years old by 11/1/2026.
- No prior instructing experience is required.
- Instructors must own their own skis or snowboard.
- New instructors need to be comfortable skiers and riders in the novice/intermediate zone.
- Completion of paid on-snow training after being hired is required.
- All employees age 18+ will complete a background check upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Teach students of all ages and abilities how to ski/snowboard, using techniques and safety information.
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure that guests enjoy their experience.
- Prioritize safety and promote the skier/rider responsibility code.
- Solve problems effectively, especially in unexpected weather and/or snow conditions.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and supervisors.
- Behave professionally and maintain a positive attitude.
- Attend trainings throughout the season to further develop technical, people, and teaching skills.
