About The Position

Provides instruction to post-secondary students in welding technology. This position will carry a 9-month faculty agreement and a required start date of 08/10/2026.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary welding program
  • A minimum of 5 years of welding industry experience
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Dependable
  • Obtain Idaho CTE Limited Occupational Specialists (LOS) certificate in the first year of employment
  • Holds or able to complete and maintain Idaho CTE educator certification within three years of start date
  • Incumbent must reside in Idaho

Responsibilities

  • Provides instruction to post-secondary students in welding technology area and develops related instructional materials (such as syllabus, lectures, course materials, evaluation tools, classroom activities, and others)
  • Maintains consistent office hours
  • Attends in-service meetings each semester
  • Participates in statewide, college-level, and program-level planning and curriculum development
  • Participates on committees or boards
  • Serves as an advisor with a student committee or board
  • Advises students with education plans
  • Instructs and evaluates students in theory and laboratory
  • Designs challenging theory and lab exercises
  • Orders parts and supplies for classroom and laboratory within budgeted amounts
  • Updates syllabi as required
  • Maintains student records
  • Attends recruitment events, open house and graduation ceremonies
  • Maintains inventory and upkeep, and updates equipment as required and feasible to stay current to industry standards
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
