About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Londonderry is seeking part-time Leaders for its middle school afterschool program at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School in Derry, New Hampshire. The role involves creating, implementing, and participating in activities, crafts, games, challenges, and team builders for students in grades 6–8. Leaders facilitate small-group activities, model and reinforce the YMCA’s core character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, and help provide a safe environment for all students. Opportunities may be available to continue working through the summer and the following school year. Shifts are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pay is $15–$18 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• Energetic and creative, and enjoys participating in activities with students.
• A background check is required.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 2–5 years of experience working with youth and/or in customer service is preferred.
• Credits in Education, Sports Management, or Hospitality are preferred; applicants currently enrolled in college-level courses in any of these majors are welcome.
