This position supports the work of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Youth Programs Instructor creates positive, nurturing relationships with children while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers, staff, and community partners. The Instructor plans and leads engaging enrichment classes that may include arts, recreation, wellness, STEM/STEAM, and specialty programming designed to support creativity, skill development, problem-solving, collaboration, and self-confidence. This role promotes achievement and belonging by creating inclusive, hands-on learning experiences that encourage peer connections and meaningful youth engagement. The Instructor provides direct support and guidance to children in a safe and structured environment while implementing curriculum focused on mastering specific skills and fostering curiosity, creativity, and personal growth. The position also ensures a high-quality experience for participants and families that strengthens relationships among youth, families, and the YMCA community.
