About The Position

FMC Ice Sports, established in 1992, is a leading operator of public ice-skating arenas in the United States, managing 25 facilities across Massachusetts. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality ice sports facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that promote interest in hockey and skating. We are seeking Lead Instructors to assist or instruct groups in our learn-to-skate and learn-to-play programs. This role involves interacting with children and adults, demonstrating proper skating techniques, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Requirements

• Applicants must be able to ice skate proficiently.
• Figure skaters should have achieved and passed ISI Freestyle 4 or USFS Freeskate 4 and up.
• Hockey players should have participated in multiple years of formal league play.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience assisting or teaching skating classes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses customer service skills to control customer interactions.
• Educates the public to the habits and attitudes of safe ice activities.
• Accurately evaluates placements of students for skating instructions.
• Prepares/completes program documents like attendance, recommendations, etc.
• Enforcement of all rules regarding rink policies and operating procedures.
• Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff.
• Responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor on time.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.
• Performs any other related or similar duty as assigned.

Benefits

• Pay based on experience and industry-related qualifications.
• Training rate $20-30 per hour based on instructor level.
• Base pay range upon completion of training $22-32 per hour for instructor-related work.
• Pay range for non-instructor-related work is $17-18 per hour based on instructor level.
