About The Position

The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is seeking a dedicated and experienced Instructor of Practice to join our faculty. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in teaching and mentoring within our health sciences program. This position involves delivering a variety of courses, providing student mentorship, and contributing to the service needs of the School, College, University, and relevant professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in a health sciences-related field.
  • Evidence of strong teaching ability (including distance/online).
  • Ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Qualified candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Educational and/or Teaching background in one or more of the following: Aging, Healthcare Management & Policy, Human resources and management, Nutrition, Ethics, Integrative Health and Wellness (including complementary and alternative medicine), Health Promotion, Medical Terminology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Research Methods, or Scientific Writing.
  • Certification Desired

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in a variety of courses within the health sciences program.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching strategies to enhance student learning and success.
  • Provide academic and professional mentorship to students in the health sciences program.
  • Support students in their academic and career development through advising and guidance.
  • Contribute to the service needs of the School, College, and University by participating in committees, attending faculty meetings, and engaging in other service activities.
  • Represent the School in appropriate professional organizations and contribute to the advancement of the health sciences field.
  • Assist in the development and revision of curriculum to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the health sciences profession and aligns with accreditation standards.
