About The Position

The Instructor-PA assists with organizing and structuring the academic program in accordance with established educational standards and practices. Coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the professional Physician Assistant course. Provides lectures and supervises and instructs students in clinical settings, and performs administrative duties. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Master's Degree required.
  • Minimum of two years of professional clinical experience and/or classroom teaching experience.
  • License or certification applicable to area of teaching as a Physician Assistant required.
  • Current certification through the NCCPA required.
  • License to practice as a Physician Assistant required.
  • Required to maintain clinical practice.
  • Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations.
  • Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner.
  • Able to keyboard 40 wpm.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality.
  • Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Able to communicate effectively on the telephone.
  • Able to think critically.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Able to distinguish colors as necessary.
  • Able to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace.
  • Able to see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
