This is a tenure-track, full-time faculty position in the Biological and Physical Sciences Department. The primary responsibilities are teaching 15 contact hours per semester, service, and professional development, with overload and summer contracts available. Faculty move through the ranks of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. The Biological and Physical Sciences Department is a large academic unit with well-equipped teaching laboratories and courses in various scientific disciplines. Columbus State is an open enrollment, community college located in downtown Columbus with additional facilities in Dublin and Delaware, serving a diverse student body including a large dual enrollment population. Faculty are required to be residents of Ohio and base themselves on campus. Full-time faculty are professional educators responsible for fulfilling the College's mission, vision, values, strategic plan, and educational philosophy, with a primary goal of providing quality education. Faculty members are subject to Board policies, including academic freedom and its responsibilities. The faculty member's relationship with the student is that of a leader, teacher, adviser, mentor, and facilitator of learning. This position is specifically intended for Organic Chemistry instruction.
