About The Position

Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching and service, some variation by academic unit. Contributes to the University's mission through teaching students and residents, research and clinical services. Participates in the teaching and training of residents and medical students, to include the presentation of lectures. Provides patient care services in outpatient and inpatient settings. Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship. Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties. Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission. Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations. Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures. Demonstrates Professionalism in accordance with Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility. Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited or RCPSC-accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Texas medical license, or eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in clinical and/or basic biomedical science research
  • Experience education of residents and/or medical students
  • Board certification in OB/GYN by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the rank of assistant professor or higher
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher
