Instructor of Early Childhood, Youth, and Family Studies
About The Position
The Department of Early Childhood, Youth, and Family Studies at Ball State University seeks qualified part-time instructors to teach on-campus undergraduate courses in Family Science/ Human Development and Family Science. We are especially interested in candidates with academic or professional expertise in one or more of the following areas: Family Policy, Family relationships and dynamics, Parenting and parent education, Family stress and resilience, Work and family, Adolescence and youth development, Community and family services, Research methods and grantwriting in the social sciences. Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Family Science, Human Development and Family Science, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field
- Academic preparation or professional experience relevant to the assigned course
- Ability to teach on campus during the scheduled course meeting times
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to supporting the learning and success of undergraduate students
- Current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- Prior college-level teaching experience
- Experience using a learning-management system such as Canvas
- Relevant professional experience working with children, youth, adults, or families
- Certified Family Life Educator credential or eligibility for CFLE certification
- Ability to teach courses in more than one area of the Family Science or HDFS curriculum
