About The Position

The Chemistry Instructor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate chemistry lecture and laboratory courses. The applicant will be expected to primarily teach lower division courses, such as Chemistry and Society, Principles of Chemistry, and General Chemistry Lab, with the potential to teach upper division laboratory courses, such as Organic Chemistry Lab. As part of the standard teaching load, the instructor will be responsible for some of the organization and preparation of their lab courses. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; courses may be assigned as in-person, online, hybrid, or via distance delivery modalities.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree or PhD in Chemistry or closely related discipline by Fall 2026
  • Ability and desire to effectively teach undergraduate chemistry lecture and lab courses
  • Enthusiasm for working with and inspiring undergraduate students at all levels
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively and collegially with colleagues
  • Applicant must be able to verify U.S. employment eligibility

Responsibilities

  • Teach 12 credit hours each semester
  • Utilize D2L for course syllabus and grade book
  • Working with other instructors during lab preparation
