About The Position

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Instructor of Nursing for a non-tenure-track visiting faculty appointment. The role supports the College’s teaching mission through high-quality instruction, student mentoring, and service in a caring-based academic environment.

The Instructor will teach undergraduate nursing courses in classroom, laboratory, simulation, online, and/or clinical settings as assigned. Assignments may be at the Boca Raton, Davie, or Jupiter campuses, depending on College needs. The successful candidate will foster student learning, maintain academic and clinical standards, and participate in service activities supporting the College, University, and nursing profession.

Requirements

• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current, unencumbered Florida RN license, or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure by the start date, as appropriate to the assignment.
• Currently hold and have held a full-time position as an Instructor or Assistant/Associate/Professor within a nursing school or college offering graduate degrees for at least three years.
• Demonstrated expertise in the clinical or academic specialty area relevant to the teaching assignment.
• Ability to teach effectively in classroom, online, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical environments.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field (PhD, DNP, EdD, or equivalent).
• Clinical practice experience in the specialty area of instruction.
• National specialty certification appropriate to the teaching assignment.
• Experience with learning management systems, simulation instruction, and student evaluation in clinical settings.

Responsibilities
