About The Position
The Instructor, CTT Network Cable provides career technical training according to approved curricula at the Charleston Job Corps Center. The instructor offers training, basic guidance, and direction to help students achieve their technical training goals. The role also supports student development through instruction, motivation, counseling, and assessment, while maintaining a safe and effective training environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification, licensure, or accreditation in the state where the center is located, or accreditation by a professional trade organization.
- Three years of related work experience in a hard trade occupation.
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
- Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training, personal problems, and study habits.
- Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, and recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
- Regularly review and audit assigned areas for contractual compliance and effectiveness of service delivery; prepare related reports.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe training environment.
- Participate in student assessment panels and complete required documentation and evaluations using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.
