About The Position
The Instructor, Academic Math provides academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula and provides basic direction in compliance with government and management directives. The role includes teaching and assisting students, supporting their behavior and study habits, and connecting academic skills to career technical training and workplace requirements. The instructor also reviews assigned areas for contractual compliance and service effectiveness and prepares related reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid teaching certificate.
- Experience with youth.
- Communication and computer proficiency.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Nice To Haves
- One year of instructional experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with basic direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
- Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training, personal problems, and study habits; coordinate with other staff as needed to address issues affecting student training.
- Develop and prepare lessons, and recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
- Use workplace language and behavior expectations in the classroom; routinely relate academic skills to career technical training and workplace requirements; ask whether individual students need assistance.
- Regularly review and audit assigned areas for contractual compliance and effectiveness of service delivery, and prepare related reports.
