About The Position

Thrive is a gymnastics training facility specializing in recreational and competitive gymnastics. The Instructor I coaches beginner and preschool-level classes, teaching basic gymnastics skills to students ages 10 months to 18 years. Classes may include Parent & Me, preschool gymnastics, beginner gymnastics, and beginner cheer and tumbling clinics. Classes are typically 6–8 students and last 50, 60, or 90 minutes. Coaches may have opportunities for continued on-the-job training to coach higher-level classes.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be available to start shifts at 3:25 PM or sooner.
A background check is required.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to stand for extended periods.
Must be able to run, walk, jump, squat, and participate in physical activities.
Coach 3–4 classes per shift; shifts are available 3–5 days per week.
Experience is not required; training is provided.

Nice To Haves

Experience in gymnastics, cheerleading, tumbling, diving, dance, or parkour is welcome.
An interest in fitness, early childhood education, psychology, or gymnastics.

Responsibilities

Coach basic gymnastics skills to students ages 10 months to 18 years.
Build students’ skill, strength, coordination, and awareness through games, curriculum-focused activities, and challenges.
Follow rotation schedules and pre-written class curricula.
Connect with students and parents while considering students’ developmental stages, including physical, cognitive, social/emotional, and communicative development.
Observe class energy and engagement and adjust activities based on class needs.
Collaborate and co-lead with other coaches.
Participate in ongoing group and individual training.
Perform light cleaning tasks.
