About The Position

Train America employs journeyman and master-level tradespeople as Instructors (we call them Guides) to train the next generation of HVACR, facilities maintenance, and industrial maintenance technicians at our training centers embedded at distribution partner locations. This part-time role allows individuals to earn more and give back by teaching a few courses per year, with each course typically involving one Saturday and five weeknights. The role is designed for individuals who are still actively working in their trade, as staying in the field is seen as beneficial for instruction.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience working in HVAC, Facilities/Commercial Maintenances and Industrial Maintenance.
  • Authorized Instructor - HVAC Courses.
  • Registered Technician - TDLR or applicable state, where required.
  • NATE Certification.
  • EPA 608 Certification for refrigerant work.
  • Authorized Instructor - Facilities Maintenance Courses.
  • Authorized Instructor - Industrial Maintenance Courses
  • Professional communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to commute to the Del Valle training center and teach at least 4 bootcamps per year.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire a group of students as their instructor.
  • Facilitate e-learning and simulations for students to learn the theories.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay between $40 - $50 per hour depending on experience and credentials.
