About The Position

The Louisiana State University School of Theatre and Film is seeking applications for a pool of part-time Adjunct Instructors in film and digital media. Areas of specialty include, but are not limited to, cinematography, sound design, and television producing. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television was established in 2020 to give students immediate and sustainable purchase on the benefits of the state’s film tax incentive program. This pre-professional degree is poised to leverage the reach of the public university to build a pipeline into a thriving film industry. Our students volunteer at the New Orleans Film Festival, intern on major films shot locally, and represent LSU at festivals across the world.

Requirements

  • MFA
  • Terminal degree in film production or related area or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience as in area of specialty (including cinematographer, sound recordist/mixer, editor, or other professional specialty)
  • Valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment.

  • Successful experience teaching at the college level

Responsibilities

  • Teach course(s) in film and/or television production in specialties as needed (e.g. cinematography, sound design, producing)
  • Participate in department initiatives, including meetings, screenings, festivals, etc.
