This is a tenure-track, full-time faculty position in the English Department, at the Delaware Campus, where the primary responsibilities are teaching 15 contact hours per semester, service, and professional development, with overload and summer contracts available. Faculty move through the ranks of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor; they are also represented by CSEA, the Columbus State faculty Union. The English Department is a large academic unit that focuses primarily on the teaching of composition, with offerings in creative writing, literature, and developmental reading and writing. Columbus State is an open-enrollment, community college located in downtown Columbus. The College serves a wide body of students from different backgrounds and has a large dual enrollment population. Faculty are required to be residents of Ohio and base themselves on campus. This position will be focused on first-year composition instruction, and the successful candidate will be engaged with emerging trends in the field. The Department seeks a leader with an innovative approach to student success in the first-year college classroom.
