About The Position

State Fire Rescue Training Area 15/BCTC is seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the position of EMS-Paramedic Instructor. This role involves participating in all aspects of the educational program, including administration, organization, supervision, quality review, long-range planning, and development. The instructor will also be involved in cooperative efforts with the EMS team, orientation/training of preceptors, and ensuring the effectiveness and quality of the program and its responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates degree and minimum of five (5) years certified or licensed as a Paramedic.
• Provide documentation that two (2) years of the five (5) years’ experience required is experience providing care with an EMS organization that complies with the requirements.
• Be knowledgeable about the current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice.
• Provide proof of completion of a KBEMS approved EMS educator course that meets the objectives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and possess a valid KBEMS Level III Instructor certification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the administration, organization, and supervision of the educational program
• Continuous quality review and improvement of the educational program
• Participate in long range planning and ongoing development of the program
• Effectiveness of the program, including instruction and faculty, with systems in place to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program
• Cooperative involvement with the EMS team
• Participate in the orientation/training and supervision of clinical and field internship preceptors
• Effectiveness and quality of fulfillment of responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned
