About The Position

This 12-month cross-disciplinary faculty position supports the School of Engineering & Construction Technologies (SECT) by providing expert instruction across programs with overlapping electrical systems content. The individual will deliver coursework in Electrical Construction and Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (ACR), with instructional scope extending to Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technologies, and Industrial Maintenance as program needs require. The primary emphasis of this role is applied electrical knowledge — wiring systems, power distribution, motor controls, and related code compliance — integrated across the technical disciplines served by SECT. This position is designed to maximize instructional flexibility and cross-program coordination in support of OSUIT's mission and the development of workforce ready graduates.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate program discipline or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of four (4) years of documented industry experience.
Demonstrated experience with electrical wiring, power distribution systems, motor controls, National Electrical Code (NEC) compliance, and/or building automation systems.
Valid Oklahoma driver's license.
Proficiency in electronic communications, word processing, and software associated with discipline and instruction.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree preferred.
Other combinations of education and directly relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
Experience that spans electrical systems within or across varied industry settings is strongly preferred.
Teaching experience in higher education or workforce training settings is preferred.
Demonstrated success in collaborating with varied constituencies.
Electrical or HVAC Journeyman license is highly desired (Oklahoma or transferable equivalency).
Additional industry certifications (NCCER, NETA, NFPA 70E, or equivalent) preferred.
Team-oriented with initiative and willingness to assume responsibility across program areas.
