About The Position

ILAC International College is seeking industry professionals to teach Computer Architecture & Operating Systems and Networks & Protocols courses. These contract positions involve delivering engaging instruction, facilitating hands-on activities, and preparing students for careers in IT. The ideal candidates are passionate about technology, possess real-world expertise, and enjoy sharing their knowledge with aspiring IT professionals. The courses combine theoretical instruction with practical application, using industry-standard tools and simulations to build job-ready skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree considered an asset).
  • Minimum three years of industry experience in software engineering, systems engineering, IT infrastructure, cloud computing, or operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture, processor design, memory systems, and operating system concepts.
  • Experience working with Linux environments and system administration.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for sharing industry knowledge and mentoring future technology professionals.
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in networking, systems administration, network engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Strong knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 addressing and subnetting
  • Strong knowledge of Routing and switching
  • Strong knowledge of DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and related protocols
  • Strong knowledge of Linux networking commands
  • Experience using Cisco Packet Tracer and Wireshark.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree considered an asset.
  • Experience teaching, mentoring, or training adult learners is considered an asset.
  • Experience with systems programming or embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of virtualization, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware design and performance optimization.
  • Experience in creating project-based or hands-on learning activities.
  • Industry certifications (Linux, Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft, AWS, etc.) are considered an asset.
  • Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or corporate facilitation experience is considered an asset.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and interactive classroom instruction aligned with the approved curriculum.
  • Prepare lesson plans, presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on learning activities.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions, simulations, and practical exercises.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and academic support.
  • Monitor attendance, participation, and student progress.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and submit grades by required deadlines.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Work closely with the Academic team to ensure a high-quality student experience.
  • Deliver engaging classroom instruction and facilitate practical lab activities.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes student success.
  • Demonstrate networking concepts through real-world examples and hands-on exercises.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, practical activities, and examinations.
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and course documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Academic Department to ensure high-quality program delivery.
