About The Position

This position involves instructing students in the Certified Nursing Assistant program. The role requires knowledge of the Ohio Nursing Practice Act, ODH standards for NATCEP, and best practices for caring for the chronically ill and elderly. The instructor will be responsible for delivering lectures, planning and organizing course material, and supervising students in lab and clinical settings. This is a faculty position within the Owens Faculty Association, working 173 days per year.

Requirements

• 2-year associate degree in nursing.
• Current, valid license issued under Chapter 4723. of the Revised Code to practice nursing as a registered nurse.
• Possess a TTT certificate for an RN from a NATCEP program or be willing to take the course.
• Minimum of two years of Full-time nursing experience.
• At least one year of experience evaluating the clinical skills of individuals providing care for the elderly or chronically ill in Long-term Care.
• Successfully completed or be willing to complete a TTT program approved by the director or the director's designee.
• One year experience in teaching adults and possess the training manual required by paragraph (D) of rule 3701-18-21 of the Administrative Code from an approved TTT program; OR Within the previous three years, provided at least one year of direct supervision of nurse aides in a long-term care facility as a registered nurse.
• Current unencumbered Ohio RN or multistate compact license.
• American Heart Association CPR instructor current.
• TB test annually.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lecture to groups of students up to 30.
• Plan and organize lecture and learn lab material.
• Supervise and instruct students in skill lab and clinical work in a fast-paced multitasking environment.

• Work independently and be team-oriented.
• Multitask multiple students in classes, lab, and clinical settings.
• Provide documentation of required qualifications and training.
