About The Position

This position provides instruction in the Business Administration Department and advising for students pursuing the Associate of Applied Science credentials and certifications awarded by the department.

Requirements

  • Mastery of subject matter.
  • Ability to develop and/or teach courses for which the appropriate credential is held.
  • Ability to teach in various formats, various locations, and via various delivery methods.
  • Ability to advise students.
  • Adherence to policies, procedures, expectations, and practices of the College, the department, and discipline.
  • Clear communication with students, other faculty, and staff.
  • Contribution to a safe and secure campus environment.
  • Enforcement of Code of Classroom Conduct and Code of Student Conduct.
  • Assistance with program reviews, program accreditation, and SACSCOC accreditation as appropriate.
  • Review of textbooks for adoption in business courses as appropriate.
  • Attendance at meetings and events and active participation on committees and taskforces.
  • Attendance at the annual commencement ceremony.
  • Upholding the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
  • Support for diversity in all aspects.
  • Establishment or upholding of learning outcomes that are relevant and meaningful.
  • Evaluation of student progress in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
  • Development, preparation, and/or delivery of all levels of curriculum courses.
  • Completion of required professional development annually.

Nice To Haves

  • An additional 18 graduate semester hours in business-related topics, credentialed to teach business or economics courses.
  • Doctorate degree or all but dissertation.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System, such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.
  • Experience teaching at a community college.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
