About The Position

The Rosen College of Hospitality Management (RCHM) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure earning instructor, associate instructor, senior instructor, lecturer, associate lecturer, senior lecturer, or tenure-earning assistant professor, or tenured associate professor or professor and assistant director of the School of Experience Leadership. This position is located at the newly renovated UCF Rosen College Campus and has an anticipated start date of August 2026. The assistant director reports to the director of the school and is responsible for the school’s academic program development in the areas of entertainment management, theme park and attraction management, and experience management. They will lead partnership development and industry collaboration in these areas with the aim of maximizing high quality student internship and employment opportunities. They will lead faculty in pursuit of industry grants and contracts as well as developing a flow of student engagement activity from the school. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Requirements

  • Non-Tenure Earning Appointment A master’s degree in hospitality, tourism, entertainment or event management, or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of application for instructor, associate instructor, or senior instructor.
  • A Ph.D. in hospitality, tourism, entertainment or event management, or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of application for lecturer, associate lecturer, or senior lecturer.
  • Demonstrated record of teaching and service.
  • Experience in educational leadership, industry experience, or industry consultation.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others and promote and maintain a collaborative professional and positive departmental culture.
  • Tenure-Earning or Tenured Appointment A Ph.D. in hospitality, tourism, entertainment or event management, or a related field from an accredited institution for assistant professor, associate professor, or professor.
  • To be eligible for appointment at the rank of assistant professor, the degree must be earned by the time of hire.
  • To be considered for tenure with hire, candidate must currently hold the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in a related field at an accredited institution.
  • A demonstrated record of research resulting in publications in highly rated journals.
  • Demonstrated record of teaching and service.
  • Experience in educational leadership, industry experience, and/or industry consultation.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others and promote and maintain a collaborative professional and positive departmental culture.
  • To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor or professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor.
