About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the ADST 5P10 Fall D10 course. The compensation for this position is effective September 1, 2026. Instructors are responsible for scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, which includes preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty. The mode of delivery for this course is planned for Fall/Winter 2025/26 terms to be primarily in-person with a portion of additional synchronous and asynchronous online instruction during the term. It will be expected that you will be able to deliver the course material in the required format and planned schedule when the course is delivered. Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

Completed PhD in Disability Studies, Psychology or related field
Demonstrated academic teaching and leadership experience in the field of disabilities
Experience in Applied Research with persons with disabilities
Proven online teaching experience required – synchronous and asynchronous
Available to teach primarily IN PERSON IN ST. CATHARINES during the day on weekends (i.e. 9-5) as scheduled, some online instruction during evenings on weekdays as required, and asynchronous instruction (e.g., lectures, activities) as needed to meet course requirements
Experience using Brightspace or other learning management systems
Experience using video conferencing platforms (e.g., Lifesize, Microsoft Teams)

Responsibilities

Scheduled contact time with students
Non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty)
Provide office hours for 1:1 and group student support as needed
Attend department related meetings via video conference as required
