About The Position
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is seeking experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join its Faculty team. This full-time probationary position is for the Spring 2027 semester in the Human Services and Chemical Dependency Department. The role involves teaching courses in Addictions Counseling and Human Services, with potential assignments at the main campus and/or the Malta campus. Teaching assignments may include weekend, evening, and online formats. The college is committed to building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty and encourages applications from underrepresented groups.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Biology or related discipline, in order to teach Anatomy & Physiology courses and other courses that relate to the Health Sciences. A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a Master’s Degree in a related scientific, healthcare, or educational field will be considered.
- Two years of successful classroom and laboratory teaching experience at the college level in the content area.
- Experience with integration of technology in the classroom/lab.
- Unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Research or clinical experience is desirable.
- Experience with distance learning initiatives is preferred.
- Demonstrated success of student mentoring and/or resource room experience is preferred.
- Experience using the D2L Brightspace learning management system.
Responsibilities
- Implements appropriate instructional duties, both classroom and laboratory.
- Develops and revises courses and curricula.
- Evaluate student performance.
- Participation on departmental, division wide and college wide committees for the purpose of building community and fulfilling aspirations of professional development is encouraged and supported.
- At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
- This role involves teaching courses that may be assigned at the HVCC main campus and/or the Malta campus.
