About The Position

The Academic Substitute Instructor provides academic instruction according to approved curricula at the Edison Job Corps Center in Edison, New Jersey. The instructor offers training, basic guidance, and direction to help students achieve their academic goals. The schedule is as needed, Monday through Friday, and compensation is $162.24 per day.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• One year of related experience.
• Valid teaching certificate.
• Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with basic direction, instruction, and assistance in designated instructional areas.
• Administer and correct tests and maintain student progress and attendance reports.
• Assist in developing community linkages and volunteers for the department.
• Take attendance each period and promptly report student absences.
• Participate in student assessment panels and complete required documentation and evaluations using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.
