About The Position
Big Brainbox is a Human Readiness Platform — an applied learning center specializing in integrated STEM and Academic competency development. We build confidence, capability, and readiness in students through an experiential methodology designed for real-world outcomes. You'll independently lead afterschool and seasonal programs for K–12 students. At BBX, Instructors own their classroom — there is no lead teacher in the room with you. You'll receive structured onboarding, hands-on training, and a direct escalation line to BBX leadership when you need it. Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Prior experience in an educational setting required — tutoring centers (Kumon, Sylvan, etc.), STEM camps, learning academies, or afterschool programs qualify
- Understanding of Neurodiversity learning needs and support
- Comfortable managing a classroom independently
- Strong communicator with students, parents, and teammates
- Reliable, adaptable, and mission-aligned
Nice To Haves
- Associate's or Bachelor's in Education, STEM, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with FLL, FTC, or robotics competitions is a strong plus
- Hands-on chemistry or biology project experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Lead STEM workshops including coding, robotics, and engineering for K–8 students
- Facilitate hands-on science activities in chemistry, biology, and applied STEM
- Deliver targeted tutoring in literacy, math, and STEM for K–12 students
- Support students with learning differences using positive reinforcement strategies
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, high-energy learning environment
- Handle classroom setup, materials, and basic inventory
- Communicate student updates to parents and caregivers as directed
- Attend team check-ins and required BBX training sessions
