About The Position

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Instructor 3 at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and eligibility to obtain at least a Georgia teacher’s associate professional fourth-year certificate; OR Current, appropriate Georgia teacher’s fourth-year certificate in the area of assignment; OR One year of experience at the lower-level Instructor 2 (EDP021) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Develops curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials appropriate for the individuals served.
  • Provides classroom and individualized instruction based on identified educational needs and abilities.
  • Adapts teaching methods and utilizes specialized instructional techniques to support different learning styles and individual needs.
  • Develops and implements individualized instructional plans.
  • Evaluates individual progress and adjusts instructional strategies as needed.
  • Provides tutoring and additional educational assistance when appropriate.
  • Maintains accurate educational records, documentation, progress reports, and other required reports.
  • Participates in the development and review of educational goals and objectives.
  • Works collaboratively with other staff members and interdisciplinary team members to support individual treatment and educational goals.
  • Maintains an organized and supportive learning environment.
  • Ensures instructional activities are conducted in accordance with applicable DBHDD, facility, and State of Georgia policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
