About The Position

Lynn Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Technology Teacher for the 26/27 school year, specifically for the new City Arts and Sciences Academy (CASA). CASA is a grade 6-12 school focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), opening in September 2025 and expanding over three years. CASA aims to integrate advanced curricula, interdisciplinary project-based learning, and real-world applications, utilizing Lynn's community resources. The school emphasizes teacher collaboration, ongoing professional development, and strong community partnerships. CASA faculty are expected to be unique and essential partners in fostering an environment of excellence and cultivating future leaders in STEM and the Arts. They will create and research engaging project-based learning experiences, welcome flexibility in an emergent team, and be enthusiastic about developing project-based classrooms. Faculty will plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning, incorporate goals and competencies into lesson plans that apply to students' lived experiences and the Lynn community, and collaborate with community partners and other teachers.

Requirements

  • Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Instructional Technology (all levels), Instructional Technology Specialist, and/or Library Media Specialist and/or Digital Literacy 5-12 and/or Technical/Engineering 5-12
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Strong district lens regarding EL, curriculum, and equity
  • Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders
  • Ability to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in an urban district/setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Remain up-to-date regarding curriculum content and advancements in technology.
  • Develop and implement technology lessons at each grade level (9-12).
  • Plan collaboratively to implement innovative technology lessons across content areas to be cotaught.
  • Develop and implement professional development.
  • Maintain technology inventory in classrooms, computer labs, and mobile labs.
  • Ensure computer equipment in the building is functioning properly or request support from HelpDesk in a timely manner.
  • Be part of the team working with educators and other specialists in the area of technology integration.
  • Encourage creativity in students.
  • Support teachers in gaining independence in troubleshooting technology problems.
  • Identify varying teaching methods for students who learn differently.
  • Other duties as assigned
