About The Position

The Instructional Technology Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the District by integrating technology into teaching and learning processes. The coordinator works closely with educators, administrators, and students to enhance the educational experience through technology integration and the district’s learning management system, Canvas. This role requires technical expertise, pedagogical knowledge, the ability to communicate with multiple groups of people, and a passion for improving education outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with various educational technology tools, software, and learning management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working closely with educators and students.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technology-related challenges.
  • Analytical skills for data analysis and assessment of technology integration.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to educational technology and data privacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide professional learning opportunities in a positive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify opportunities for integrating technology into the curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Provide training and professional development sessions for educators on the implementation of educational technology tools and platforms, ensuring they are proficient in using these tools effectively.
  • Assist in developing technology-enhanced lesson plans and curriculum materials that align with educational standards and goals, fostering innovative and engaging learning experiences.
  • Curate and manage a repository of digital resources, including digital curriculum platforms, educational software, apps, and online content, to support instructional objectives.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate technology solutions and tools that align with educational objectives, considering budget constraints and scalability. In addition, assist with evaluating digital curricular resources during curricular reviews.
  • Analyze data related to technology usage and its impact on student performance and learning outcomes, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Technology Department Staff, Instruction Office, curriculum specialists, and administrators, to ensure seamless technology integration across the institution.
  • Ensure that Canvas and Google Classroom, the district’s Learning Management Systems, are maintained, accessible, and support is provided for all users.
  • Ability to work with outside company representatives to provide seamless support to end-users in the district.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in educational technology and instructional design, and share this knowledge with colleagues.
  • Advocate for and ensure that educational technology is accessible and inclusive for all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
