About The Position

The Instructional Team Lead supports the mission of the Catholic school by providing classroom support, instructional support, and mentorship to teachers and staff while modeling Gospel values in a Christ-centered environment. This position collaborates with teachers to strengthen instructional practices, support student learning, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence. The Instructional Team Lead serves as a resource for curriculum implementation, evidence-based practices, and school initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to Catholic school values and policies. The Instructional Team Lead fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by guiding, inspiring, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment. The Teacher is to be immediately responsible to the principal for the carrying out of policies of the school and the Archdiocese of San Antonio as they relate to the function of the school, the classroom, and the immediate contact with students and parents.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 12 credit hours in education courses or a valid, appropriate state certificate, as outlined in the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department standards.
  • Technology proficiency in the areas of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet use for educational purposes and multimedia presentations.
  • Demonstrated competency in the subject assigned area(s).
  • Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
  • Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
  • Knowledge of subject assigned
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Maybe required to work some weekends and nights.
  • Required to work a minimum a full school day

Responsibilities

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
  • Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.

  • Serve as a resource for curriculum questions, assessment design, and evidence-based practices
  • Support school initiatives and help communicate expectations and professional learning goals
  • Model professionalism and a growth mindset to foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Support struggling learners through small-group instruction or intervention while the teacher works with other students
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and challenged
  • Help monitor student achievement data to identify trends and inform instructional adjustments
  • Help teachers to develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  • Help teachers to prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Department of Catholic Schools, and administrative regulations.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
  • Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to DCS requirements
  • Assist teachers with the use of technology and technology programs to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
  • Co-plan and co-teach lessons with the primary teacher, ensuring consistent instructional delivery and differentiation across classes
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to the teacher, focusing on classroom management, instructional delivery, and student engagement
  • Observe lessons regularly and conduct post-observation conferences to discuss strengths and growth areas
  • Share best practices and resources aligned with district standards and curriculum goals
  • Guide the teacher through curriculum implementation and help troubleshoot challenges in real-time
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the principal.
  • Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of Catholic education.
  • Assist teachers with the creation of classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Help teachers to manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials as required.
  • Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Supports the communication, training, and supervision of the faculty and staff
  • Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals
  • Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
  • Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students, and staff
  • Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning
  • Serves as mentor teacher to staff
