The Instructional Systems Designer is a fully experienced professional who works with minimal supervision and can serve as a trainer and mentor to junior and mid-level staff. This role is responsible for designing and developing instructional material for customer training courses that support the organization. The individual must demonstrate and utilize effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills to independently develop entry and advanced level courses for both internal and external audiences. Proficiency in understanding computer systems, applications, and interfaces is required, as is proficiency in data gathering techniques and the ability to devise, design, and communicate systems solutions to client issues and problems of medium complexity. An intermediate understanding of Connecticut Children’s business functions is also necessary. The role may require specialized knowledge in specific applications/computer systems such as Captivate, Lectora, or Dreamweaver. Responsibilities include creating detailed work-related specifications, system design documentation, procedures, process and data flows, and project and change management plans. Effective communication with clients and colleagues, along with proficient analytical skills, are essential.
