Instructional Support Specialist - CARES School
About The Position
Devereux is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to work at their School For Integrated Learning in West Chester, PA. This role involves supporting students diagnosed with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities in a school setting. The position is available as full-time or part-time, with a Monday-Friday schedule during normal school hours and no weekends. The school focuses on building upon the unique strengths of each student, offering individualized educational opportunities and a curriculum aligned with Pennsylvania Core Standards. The program emphasizes differentiated instruction, evidence-based strategies, and a philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS).
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support the students with all classroom activities
- Ensure student safety
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and educational needs of the students
- Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives
Benefits
- Full Time Compensation : $17.50 - $19.95 (based upon experience and education)
- Schedule: Monday -Friday, 8am-4pm (52-week year-round position)
- Part Time Compensation : $19.50 - $22.23 (based upon experience and education)
- Schedule: Up to 32 hours per week with flexibility during school hours
