Instructional Support Specialist - CARES School
About The Position
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Part-Time Instructional Support Specialist for the School for Integrated Learning in West Chester, PA. This role involves working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities in an educational environment that utilizes current treatment interventions, applied behavior analysis, and positive behavior supports. The specialist will assist students with individualized plans, classroom activities, and ensure a safe and healthy environment. The position is part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on increasing student independence.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the children in your care with their individualized plans for daily life.
- Support the children with classroom activities.
- Ensure the students are safe, healthy, and living in a clean environment.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of the client.
