About The Position

The CSTEM Dean's Office is accepting applications for their Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) Pool for the Fall 2026 semester. ISAs provide tutoring, grading, or instruction to other CSU students under supervision. This work can be performed on-campus or remotely. Applications are valid through the Fall 2026 semester. The role is typically part-time, up to 20 hours per week, and incumbents may have concurrent assignments in other Student Assistant classifications as long as the total hours do not exceed 20.

Requirements

• Admission or registration as a CSU student.
• Ability to learn and perform assigned work.
• Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and other students.
• Ability to accept responsibility.
• Registration in CSUSM degree Program.
• Enrolled in Courses for Fall 2026 at CSUSM toward the completion of the degree.
• Able to make decisions about accomplishing work assignments.
• Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with instructor to discuss lab activities prior to the lab.
• Assists students during class with lab activities.
• Offers assistance to students with lab activities.
