About The Position

Student will participate in one or more NASA research projects on Atmospheric Physics working on instruments located at Stan State and atmospheric modeling with NASA Ames Research Center. The research focus on using ground-based data to evaluate atmospheric models in the Central Valley of California.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
  • Must be a current Stanislaus State student, currently enrolled or eligible to enroll.
  • Must complete a resume, available work schedule, and class schedule indicating required enrollment.
  • Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
  • Must consent to a criminal and/or child abuse background check.
  • Must provide necessary information for background check and not provide false or misleading information.

Nice To Haves

  • Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry knowledge.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Experience working in Linux operating systems and in cluster computing.
  • Experience working with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Google Earth Engine.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in NASA research projects on Atmospheric Physics.
  • Work on instruments located at Stan State.
  • Engage in atmospheric modeling with NASA Ames Research Center.
  • Utilize ground-based data to evaluate atmospheric models in the Central Valley of California.
