About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant (Grader) Pool. This is a pool of Instructional Student Assistants for the department to draw on as necessary. Appointments from the pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants may be offered employment on very short notice. Under the direct supervision of a faculty supervisor, the Instructional Student Assistant (Grader) will evaluate student homework and quizzes. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment. Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Other job duties may be assigned by the individual faculty member.

Requirements

  • At least one recently completed college level course math with a grade of B.
  • Have the contact information for at least one prior college level mathematics instructor.
  • Competency to grade homework and quizzes in assigned math course.
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in at least 6 units in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide eligibility documents.
  • The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.
