About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Federal Work Study Instructional Student Assistant (Apprentice) Pool for the Academic Year 26-27. This pool is for current CSUF undergraduate and graduate students in the MATH department to serve as Apprentices in Mathematics. These appointments are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, with applicants potentially being offered employment on very short notice. The apprentice role is gradual, allowing the apprentice to assimilate into an active learning classroom setting at their own pace, working alongside a mentor faculty member. Apprentices are an integral part of the flipped classroom, enabling instructors to provide one-on-one and differentiated instruction, even in larger sections. Their active role allows them to seamlessly support struggling students by pulling them aside for additional assistance.
