The Department of Mathematics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Federal Work Study Instructional Student Assistant (Apprentice) Pool for the 26-27 academic year. This is a pool from which the department will draw as needed to fill temporary positions. Appointments are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, and applicants may be offered employment on very short notice. The apprentice role is designed to be gradual, allowing the apprentice to assimilate into an active learning classroom setting at their own pace, working alongside a mentor faculty member. Apprentices are an integral part of the flipped classroom model, enabling instructors to provide one-on-one and differentiated instruction, even in large sections. Their active role allows them to seamlessly support struggling students.
