About The Position

The Curriculum Instructional Officer supports the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of district curriculum, instructional resources, and academic initiatives. This position coordinates special projects, manages curriculum development processes, and provides organizational and operational support to ensure the successful execution of strategic priorities. The officer collaborates with district leaders and stakeholders to support curriculum development and management, promote high-quality instructional practices, and advance continuous improvement across the district.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Valid Texas secondary teaching certificate
  • Minimum of three years successful secondary teaching experience
  • At least five years in an instructional leadership role
  • Experience supporting curriculum development and instructional design
  • Experience designing and/or delivering professional learning for educators
  • Working knowledge of assessment practices and data analysis to inform instructional improvement
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • High level of comfort with technology tools and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Emotional intelligence to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues
  • Growth mindset in the abilities of learners, colleagues, and self

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of district curriculum and instructional resources to ensure alignment with district priorities, state standards, and research-based instructional practices.
  • Manage curriculum development and district special projects by planning, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating project timelines, deliverables, workflows, and quality assurance processes.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and provide support for district curriculum management systems, digital instructional platforms, and related instructional technologies that support curriculum development and implementation.
  • Design, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate professional learning related to curriculum implementation, curriculum management systems, instructional resources, and district initiatives.
  • Coordinate curriculum review and revision cycles utilizing educator feedback, student performance data, program evaluations, and district priorities to support continuous improvement.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of curriculum documents, instructional materials, digital resources, and curriculum management systems to ensure alignment, consistency, accessibility, and instructional quality.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate data to evaluate curriculum initiatives, special projects, and departmental goals and prepare reports that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with district curriculum coordinators, instructional leaders, campus administrators, district departments, and external partners to support curriculum development, resource alignment, and successful implementation of instructional initiatives.
  • Develop tools, templates, guidance documents, and communication resources while providing technical assistance and problem-solving support to district and campus personnel related to curriculum development and curriculum management systems.
  • Participate in district committees, professional organizations, and cross-functional teams to support district goals and strategic initiative.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
