The Instructional Literacy/Math Coach works collaboratively as part of a consultancy team within assigned schools. The role involves identifying school improvement priorities with school leadership, observing and providing feedback on classroom instruction, facilitating professional development, demonstrating lessons, and coaching teachers individually and in small groups. The primary goal is to build the capacity of the school and its teachers to deliver high-quality instruction, ensuring all students achieve rigorous career and college readiness standards. The coach works directly in support of teachers through conferencing, co-planning, observing, modeling, and co-teaching/coaching. This role also includes participating in professional development and self-inquiry into instructional leadership practices, demonstrating positive expectations for student learning, and sharing this vision with coached teachers. A key aspect is the review, analysis, and interpretation of various data to inform instructional planning, practice, and decision-making, aligning with district and school priorities, CCR standards, teacher development needs, and evidence-based practices. The Coach also identifies and leverages resources, communicates District priorities, and designs and facilitates professional development at multiple levels.
